Réka Bucsi’s diploma film Symphony no. 42 has again received an international recognition. The ten-minute digital drawing animation was selected for the competition program of the Sundance Film Festival. Founded by Robert Redford, the American film festival of world-wide reputation each January presents the most outstanding, pioneering films from all around the globe in Park City, Utah. During the 30 years since the foundation of the festival, only two films created by Hungarian filmmakers have made it to the short film competition: Before Dawn by Bálint Kenyeres, then Les Conquérants, the animation short of Sarolta Szabó and Tibor Bánóczki.

Symphony no. 42 was made at MOME with the support of the Hungarian National Film Fund. Réka Bucsi’s diploma film premiered in the competition program of the 2014 Berlinale and later received numerous awards and recognitions, among them at the acclaimed international film festivals of Hong Kong, Lisbon, Hiroshima, Chicago, Melbourne, Sao Paolo and Valladolid.

Symphony No.42 competed for the Oscar in Best Animated Short category as well, since the American Film Academy has selected it among the ten shorlist animations.
