The aim of programme is to prepare students to become creative professionals with experience in designing individual artifacts as well as smaller or greater series of glass objects based on solid knowledge of the particular technological and visual properties of glass (transparency and optical attributes of cold and hot glass modelling). The fundamental elements of professional work at Glass Design BA are theory-based workshops, industrial and glasshouse training. Led by internationally recognized artists, a 3 years long creative visual education introduces students into glass design techniques and methods. It offers basic training in studio glass and design applications, making material realization of designs possible. The curriculum is enriched by international competitions and exhibitions, cooperative projects involving various departments of the university, special summer hot glass workshops, and a lively community spirit.
